Blue Knight’s on the Pitch: A Look Back and a Look Forward

Southington started their week with an away match at Northwest Catholic on Monday. The Blue Knights played with energy right from the beginning of the game. Their hard work was rewarded when Eli Rodriguez scored a goal mid-way through the first half to give Southington 1-0 lead. The first half ended with Southington leading 1-0. Northwest Catholic began the second-half creating chances in the Blue Knights half of the field and finally broke through to tie the game 15 minutes into the second half at 1-1. The teams played evenly until Southington used some nice passing to find Eli Rodriguez free once again for the 2-1 lead. For the remainder of the half, the Southington defense stepped up significantly to close out the game for a 2-1 Southington victory.

The first half was played to an even draw at 0-0. For roughly 35 minutes of the second half, the game remained even without a score. Finally, Kieran Tindall used some nifty passing to create an opportunity that Colin Burdette finished for a 1-0 Blue Knights lead.
