Blue Knight’s on the Pitch: A Look Back and a Look Forward

Due to the heavy rain and wind, the Tuesday home match with Conard was postponed. It will be made up this Wednesday at 3:45pm.

On a cool Thursday evening, the Blue Knights traveled to Hall High School for a tough road match. With familiar faces back in familiar places, Southington welcomed Evan Daddona back into goal and Cameron Zegzdryn back on defense. Eighty-minutes of soccer was played very evenly with both teams having chances to score and each team playing strong defense resulting in a 0-0 tie at the end of regulation. It was a flashback to the 2017 season opener against Hall that went into overtime and ended in a 1-1 tie. The first overtime ended in the same fashion as regulation with no score and the teams proceeded to the final 5 minutes of the game. Mid-way through the second overtime, Alexis Frausto found the back of the net for a 1-0 Blue Knights lead. Southington played solid team defense for the final minutes and preserved the thrilling 1-0 victory. Congratulations to Evan for a shutout in his return as the Blue Knights goalie.
