Blue Knight’s on the Pitch: A Look Back and a Look Forward

The Blue Knights started their week on Tuesday with a road match against RHAM. RHAM broke through first to take a 1-0 lead. The first half ended with RHAM holding that 1-0 lead. The second half went back and forth. Southington scored to tie the game at 1-1. RHAM then took the lead back at 2-1. The Blue Knights then scored to tie the game at 2-2. The game remained tied at the end of regulation and it was off to overtime. The first 5-minute overtime ended without a score. RHAM broke through in the second overtime to score and held on for a 3-2 victory.

On Thursday evening, Southington traveled to Simsbury on a cool fall night under the lights. The majority of the first half was played evenly with both teams creating chances. As the first half began to wind down, Keiran Tindall took a long distance free kick. As the ball floated towards the goal the two teams worked for position, but the ball found its way into the goal without being touched. Keiran’s goal gave the Blue Knights  a 1-0 lead. The first half ended with Southington holding on to that 1-0 lead. The Blue Knights came out in the second half aggressive looking to extend the lead. Their hard work was rewarded 5 minutes into the half as Colin Burdette made the score 2-0 Southington. Simsbury pushed the action to try to get back into the game but the Blue Knights defense played well and John Griffin made quality saves for the 2-0 victory.
